NEW YORK (WFAN) — The Giants might finally have an offense that can kill some clock and help protect leads in the fourth quarter.
In Sunday’s 20-19 win over the Cowboys, the Giants drained nearly three minutes from the clock late in the final period as they marched from their own 29-yard line to Dallas’ 37 before punting. The Cowboys got the ball back at their own 20 with a little more than a minute left to play and never reached field goal range.
That was a departure from last season when six of the Giants’ 10 losses came in games in which they led with 75 seconds remaining in regulation.
