It's looking less likely by the day that Giants outside linebacker Olivier Vernon will suit up for the season opener on Sunday afternoon against the Jacksonville Jaguars at MetLife Stadium.
Vernon missed Friday's practice, and hasn't taken the practice field since suffering what amounts to a high-ankle sprain on Aug. 26 when he was carted off.
Not only was Vernon absent from every practice this week leading up to Sunday's game, but he was not even outside doing side work with trainers or riding the exercise bike, which injured players typically do.
