John Mara’s quiet aura speaks louder than any Giants words

The last time the Giants lost with greater frequency than they are doing right now – a six-game losing streak – was back in 2014, when they put the finishing touches on a seven-game skid three days after Thanksgiving.

A 21-0 lead in Jacksonville was blown but the Giants reclaimed the lead at 24-22 with 3:30 remaining. On cue, their defense folded and allowed the immortal Blake Bortles to run and pass the Jaguars to the game-winning field goal in the closing minute.

As he sat on the team bus waiting to take his 3-9 team away from the wreckage at the stadium and to the airport, co-owner John Mara sat and stewed in silence.
