According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the San Francisco 49ers have traded for New England Patriots quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.
The 49ers make the deal happen right before tomorrow's trade deadline, giving up a second-round pick in the process.
What does this mean for the New York Giants? Well, this is a big f****** deal.
The Giants, because they suck this season, will likely end up with a top-five choice in the upcoming NFL draft.
The only teams with fewer wins than the Giants are the Cleveland Browns (winless) and the aforementioned, 49ers (winless).
Now that San Fran has their quarterback, it takes them out of the running for Josh Rosen, Sam Darnold, or whatever quarterback emerges at the top of draft boards this offseason.
