It’s up or out for New York Giants developmental players this season

That’s the message being sent as the team jettisoned five players yesterday, according to the team’s official website. Perhaps you recognize the names of wide receiver Caanan Severin and safety Ryan Murphy.

They’re now gone.

Murphy actually played in three games for the G-Men in 2017, as the secondary was ravaged by injury. He accumulated one tackle. Big Blue recently signed Orion Stewart to work in the rotation in the defensive backfield.

At one time, there was thought at one time that Severin could become an NFL wideout. If he does, it will be with another team.
