It’s only training camp, but New York Giants fans might finally have reason to celebrate again. When the team selected Abdul Carter third overall in the 2025 draft, he was widely regarded as the best pass-rushing prospect in the class.

There was a brief moment of “uh-oh” after the Jacksonville Jaguars traded with the Cleveland Browns for the No. 2 overall pick, but it turns out they were looking to secure two-way star Travis Hunter. That meant Carter would be there at No. 3 for the taking.

Fortunately, Joe Schoen didn’t overthink it and got the best player available.
