Giants' Thomas McGaughey reveals cancer diagnosis | 'Not going to let chemotherapy or cancer get in the way of what I do'

An ear-to-ear smile spread across Giants special teams coordinator Thomas McGaughey's face as he thought about using offensive playmakers Odell Beckham and Saquon Barkley as returners.

You can imagine the contrasting emotions McGaughey felt this offseason when he was diagnosed with cancer after two bouts of sepsis. Periampullary is a form of cancer from an enlargement of the ducts joining the liver and pancreas, where they enter the small intestine.

"They found a growth in my bowel duct, and in that growth was cancer," McGaughey revealed Thursday before Giants practice. "They removed it.
