The Giants have taken Miami tackle Ereck Flowers with the ninth overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.
The Giants needed offensive line help after injuries decimated the unit in 2014. The pick allows current Giants right tackle and 2013 first-round pick Justin Pugh to slide inside to guard.
Former Giants lineman Chris Snee, who evaluated Flowers for the Giants, said Flowers "has a little edge to him" but "he'd be a work in progress."
"He's young and you can see there is a lot of technique work that has to be done," Snee said of the 21-year-old junior.
