A quarterback the Giants hoped could be their future is now their past.
Davis Webb, a third-round pick last year, is being released, as the Giants appear to be moving forward with fourth-round rookie Kyle Lauletta and veteran Alex Tanney behind Eli Manning.
Webb, who was drafted out of California, lost the regime that picked him, and the new Giants hierarchy is going with its own pick in Lauletta, a fourth-rounder.
