Giants’ star Odell Beckham getting second opinion on quad injury

Odell Beckham Jr. will not practice Thursday as the New York Giants star wide receiver is at the Hospital for Special Surgery getting a second opinion on his lingering quad injury.

Per Dan Duggan of The Athletic, coach Pat Shurmur said “He’s just getting it checked out. It doesn’t mean anything.”

Beckham apparently sustained the quad injury when he was leg-whipped on the final play against the Philadelphia Eagles more than two weeks ago. He played the following week against the Chicago Bears, but showed up on the injury report late last week and was held out of Sunday’s game against the Washington Redskins.
