Wide receiver Matt Cole, a former Division II player who appeared in one game for the San Francisco 49ers a season ago, was claimed off waivers from the New York Jets. Wide receiver Andy Jones, signed as a free agent just a week ago, was cut.
Cole entered the NFL last season as a rookie free agent with the Miami Dolphins, from McKendree University, a Division II school in Lebanon, Ill.
