Giants’ roster moves: Connor Barwin signing official, TE Kyle Carter waived

A very busy day for the New York Giants on Wednesday continued with the team officially announcing the signing of veteran outside linebacker Connor Barwin, who has 55.5 career sacks over nine NFL seasons.

To make room on the 90-man roster, tight end Kyle Carter was waive, Carter, who was with Pat Shurmur last season in Minnesota, had been awarded to the Giants on waivers early in the offseason. With a crowded tight end picture, though, the Giants apparently felt they didn’t have a spot for him.

The 32-year-old Barwin spent four seasons with the Houston Texans, four with the Philadelphia Eagles and last season with the Los Angeles Rams.
