Giants roster move: LB Nate Stupar released

The New York Giants have made another roster move, announcing on Friday that they have released linebacker Nate Stupar.

Stupar, 31, played in 16 games with 14 tackles last season. He was mostly a special teams player for the Giants.

Stupar suffered a concussion in the Giants’ preseason finale vs. the New England Patriots.

The acquisition earlier in the week of linebacker David Mayo perhaps made Stupar expendable.

The Giants have not announced a corresponding roster move, but this late in the week what seems most likely is bringing someone up from the 10-man practice squad.
