Johnson was signed as an undrafted free agent right after the NFL Draft. He faces a steep uphill climb to secure a practice squad spot, much less one on the 53-man roster coming out of training camp.
Johnson mostly worked with the third- and fourth-team offense during the offseason program, and he has the misfortune of playing at arguably the Giants' deepest position. There are at least eight receivers ahead of him at this point.

Johnson is likely a camp receiver. A strong summer push could land him a spot on the practice squad depending on how many receivers the Giants carry on the active roster, and who those receivers are.
