The Giants only have five other true running backs on the roster and they figure to keep at least four. The challenge for Abdullah (31 white) will be leapfrogging some of the established veterans ahead of him on the depth chart. Obviously an injury or two could open up more opportunities for Abdullah.
Abdullah was named an All-American as a senior at James Madison after leading Division 1-AA with 1,809 rushing yards, 22 rushing touchdowns and 25 total touchdowns. He rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns in the national championship game to earn Most Outstanding Player honors.
