The New York Giants have requested permission to interview Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator Derrick Ansley for the job that opened in New York when Wink Martindale and the Giants parted ways last week.
That news was first reported by Adam Schefter.
No word as to whether or not the Chargers will grant the Giants permission to speak with Ansley. Los Angeles denied New York’s request last week to speak with Chargers’ special teams coordinator Ryan Ficken about the Giants’ vacancy at that spot.
Ansley, 42, joined the Chargers as defensive backs coach in 2020.
