Giants re-sign Devin Taylor to bolster defensive line

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Short on healthy defensive ends, the New York Giants re-signed Devin Taylor on the Tuesday after their bye week.

Taylor was cut prior to the start of the season after being signed as a free agent this summer. He had 11.5 sacks the previous two seasons with the Detroit Lions, and the thought was that he could add depth to the line. But Taylor didn't survive a numbers game with youngsters Romeo Okwara and Avery Moss on the roster and veteran Kerry Wynn outplaying him this summer.
