As if the Giants needed another kick while they are down, they have to get another kicker.
The team re-signed Chris Boswell, who was cut last week, to handle the place-kicking duties in Thursday's preseason finale against the Patriots. He'll step in for veteran Josh Brown, who bruised his leg making a tackle on a kickoff in the Jaguars game and has been limited in practices since (although he did kick in the game against the Jets). Boswell is the 75th player on the 75-man roster.
That's not the only specialist position in flux. Although the Giants cut backup punter Robert Malone on Tuesday, Tom Coughlin made it clear Steve Weatherford has not won that job outright.
