The Giants need second-year edge defender Lorenzo Carter to take a step forward this season. We have discussed that many times. Carter said Monday that one thing he has learned is that to take the next step in his development, he needs to make sure his steps after the snap count.
“I was talking to my teammates today, and I was just telling them those first two steps are the most important,” Carter said. “If you have a bad first two steps, then you can’t really rebound, but if your first two steps are great, then you put the offensive lineman at a disadvantage.
