Giants news, 8/11: Darian Thompson joins injured defensive backs, more headlines

Good morning, New York Giants fans! The Giants are off today, running to practice Sunday and Monday before heading to Detroit for joint practices with the Detroit Lions. Let’s check the headlines as we move toward the second week of the preseason.

The Giants did not come out of Thursday’s game against the Cleveland Browns completely unscathed. Safety Darian Thompson suffered a hamstring injury, defensive lineman Kristjan Sokoli suffered a knee injury and defensive end Jordan Williams is in the concussion protocol.

Thompson and Curtis Riley, the two players who seem like the leaders in the competition at free safety, are now both suffering from hamstring injuries.
