If anyone can figure out the method of Joe Schoen’s practice squad/roster transaction madness, please speak up. This is a New York Giants football team that’s 0u20112, already facing another lost season, and they’re making moves that will do nothing to solve said conundrum — no offense to LaMareon James.
The Giants released cornerback Dee Williams and replaced him with James, who was cut by the Browns earlier this week. Williams made one appearance for New York last year after joining from Seattle and played mostly on special teams. James brings more upside on paper — 24 pass breakups, three picks, and 1,346 kickoff return yards in college — but there’s little reason to think the move remotely shifts anything short-term.
