Giants made a move that puts Davis Webb’s future in question

Are the Giants looking to trade away Davis Webb?

They are certainly up to something, as they kept four quarterbacks on their initial 53-man roster after Saturday’s cut-down.

Coach Pat Shurmur is an advocate for keeping three quarterbacks on the roster — Tom Coughlin often went with only two — but the Giants are not going to use four roster spots on quarterbacks once the season is underway.

Eli Manning, of course, is the starter and not going anywhere. Kyle Lauletta, a rookie from Richmond, was a fourth-round pick of this new regime, meaning general manager Dave Gettleman and especially Shurmur — a noted quarterback guru — have a stake in Lauletta.
