The New York Giants finally landed on a candidate they were allowed to interview for their vacant special teams coordinator position.
Per Ian Rapoport, the Giants interviewed San Francisco 49ers assistant special teams coach Matt Harper over the weekend as a potential replacement for the fired Thomas McGaughey.
The Giants had previously been rebuffed by three teams in their efforts to interview coordinators. That is because those would have been lateral moves for Marquise Williams of the Atlanta Falcons, Chris Tabor of the Carolina Panthers and Ryan Ficken of the Los Angeles Chargers.
