Giants Insider: Injury hurting Nat Berhe's chances

When training camp began, second-year man Nat Berhe was expected to contend for one of the Giants’ starting safety slots.

Just one week in, he is on the shelf again. On Thursday, Berhe, the team’s sixth-round draft pick in 2014, sat out his second straight day of practice with a right calf injury. He expects to miss “a couple more days,” he said, although he hopes to be back practicing by the time the club heads to Cincinnati next week for two joint practices with the Bengals and the preseason opener Friday.

Berhe, who had calf issues throughout the spring, said he felt the calf tighten in drills on Wednesday.
