New York Giants kick/punt returner Gunner Olszewski was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 17. Olszewski’s 94-yard punt return touchdown sent MetLife Stadium into a frenzy on Sunday as the Giants appeared poised to tie the game at 26 with 3:27 remaining in the game.
On the return, Olszewski fielded the ball at the 6-yard line, the second time he fielded a punt inside the 10 during the game. This time, he took it back far past the 20, slipping through several tackles on his way to the end zone. In particular, he appeared to be stopped after a nice return before bouncing off tacklers and finding a wall of blockers.
