EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The New York Giants’ first meeting of the summer included a Rudyard Kipling poem and a story about Frasier the Lion.

The Giants reported to training camp on Thursday. Coach Ben McAdoo read Kipling’s famous "If" poem to the players to get his message across about their youth and experience needing to gel.

“We have a youth group and an experienced group,” McAdoo said. “We have players ranging from 21 years old to 36 years old. That’s a big age difference. The good teams merge well and gel well. And we need to do that and we need to understand what the other person is going through.
