Giants’ first roster cut sends ruthless message hours after preseason ends

It didn’t take long for the New York Giants to turn the page on the preseason. After an unexpectedly dominant 3-0 showing — outscoring opponents 107-47 — one of the team’s biggest summer standouts reportedly won’t be sticking around.

New York has until 4:00 p.m. Tuesday to trim the roster from 90 to 53, but Joe Schoen, Brian Daboll, and the rest of the front office aren’t exactly procrastinators. Just hours after demolishing the Patriots 42-10, Big Blue started making moves.

According to The Athletic’s Dan Duggan, wide receiver and special teams standout Montrell Washington will not make the 53-man roster for the 2025 season:
