Giants' Eli Manning: Training camp excitement to 'prove to yourself' can still play at high level

UNION -- "My name is Eli Manning, and I'm the quarterback for the New York Giants."

After 14 NFL seasons and two Super Bowl MVP awards, Manning still unnecessarily introduced himself as he addressed a starstruck crowd of football campers Tuesday morning at the Gatorade Beat the Heat program at Kean University.

If Manning sounded extra humble, he also sounded extra excited for the start of his 23rd straight year of summer football practice, dating to high school on sweltering days in his native Louisiana.

"It's still an excitement to prove to yourself that you should still be doing this," Manning said.
