There are 11 numbers representing 12 Giants who have retired, never to be worn by another of the franchise’s players. Eli Manning’s No. 10 will be the 12th number to be retired in the 95-year history of the franchise.
“I wish all my decisions were that easy, to tell you the truth,’’ co-owner John Mara said.
For a team with such a long history, the Giants are quite selective at this. Hall of Famers get their numbers retired. No one has ever been assigned No. 92 since Michael Strahan last wore it in 2007, but the Giants have never announced that number has been retired.
