Giants' Eli Apple not concerned with 'lies,' ready to 'move forward'

The Giants' other Eli was supposed to be the man in Tuesday's news.

The stunning benching of quarterback Eli Manning took the anticipated spotlight off second-year cornerback Eli Apple, who found himself embroiled in more controversy after a weekend story by The New York Post, citing a source, said Apple has been a healthy scratch the last two games in part due to head coach Ben McAdoo's concerns about his "mental state."

"It's whatever. I'm trying to take the approach that, this whole thing has definitely been humbling. Not even with me individually, but just as a team," Apple told NJ Advance Media when asked for his reaction to the report, adding he feels his rocky second season has been "a blessing.
