Giants Defensive End Jason Pierre-Paul Released From Hospital

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — According to WFAN and NFL Media’s Kim Jones, Giants star defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul has been released from the hospital.

The two-time Pro Bowler had his right index finger amputated this past Thursday following a fireworks mishap on July 4. Pierre-Paul also fractured his thumb during the accident.

JPP has not signed his franchise tag, and according to ESPN.com, he won’t do so until he’s medically cleared to participate in on-field activities.

Source says JPP won't sign franchise tender until confident he can pass physical to prevent #Giants from putting on NFI, having full control

This strategy is to prevent the Giants from putting Pierre-Paul on the non-football injury list, and thus not paying him his $14.
