The Giants have cut two of their season-opening offensive linemen before the second half begins.
About one month after waiving right tackle Ereck Flowers, the Giants doubled down on admitting offseason mistakes by releasing right guard Patrick Omameh, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
Omameh signed a three-year contract worth $15 million on the first day of NFL free agency in March. He started the first six games before he was benched when the Giants turned to center Spencer Pulley at center and moved John Greco to right guard.
