Giants coaching news: Frank Cignetti, ex-Rutgers assistant, reportedly new QB coach

Cignetti was at Rutgers in 2011.

The New York Giants have reportedly filled one of the vacancies on new coach Ben McAdoo's staff, reportedly hiring former Rutgers offensive coordinator Frank Cignetti to be the team's quarterbacks coach. Cignetti was only in Piscataway for one season before becoming quarterbacks coach of the St. Louis Rams. He was promoted to offensive coordinator in 2015 but was fired last month.

Previous reports have indicated that last year's quarterbacks coach, Mike Sullivan, is expected to become the team's offensive coordinator.

Cignetti has collegiate experience as a coordinator at Fresno State, North Carolina and Pittsburgh.
