Giants bring back giant for defensive line help

On the day of the NFL trading deadline, the Giants made a big move.

Well, not a big move, but a move for a big player.

The Giants signed defensive end Devin Taylor, who at 6-foot-8 becomes their tallest player. Taylor, a five-year NFL veteran with 15 career sacks from his days with the Lions, was with the Giants this summer and was a moderately surprising roster cut after the preseason. Taylor, 27, started all 16 games last season for the Lions. He replaces Nordly “Cap’’ Capi, who was placed on injured reserve after straining a hamstring in the 24-7 loss to Seattle.
