The Giants were awarded a compensatory draft pick on Friday, gaining an additional fourth-round pick in April’s draft.

The Giants now have seven total picks in the draft. They do not have a seventh-round pick, after trading that to the Steelers for cornerback Ross Cockrell.

Compensatory picks are given out through a formula based on how many free agents are gained and lost in the prior year.

The Giants lost Robbie Gould, Johnathan Hankins, Marshall Newhouse and Coty Sensabaugh last year. They signed Rhett Ellison and Geno Smith.

The Jets were not given any compensatory picks.
