Apparently, Ben McAdoo wasn’t all that “comfortable.”
After a weekend in which the new Giants coach described himself as “very comfortable” with having two quarterbacks on the roster entering the season opener at Dallas, the team signed Josh Johnson, giving the Giants three quarterbacks on the 53-man roster for the first time since 2013.
Though Eli Manning has played in 183 straight regular-season games, the Giants were clearly uneasy having Ryan Nassib as their only backup, following a miserable training camp and preseason.
To make room for Johnson, the Giants cut linebacker Jasper Brinkley, who started the final nine games of last season and finished third on the team in tackles.
