Fans are hoping the New York Giants can get back to being one of the top pressure-based defenses in the NFL under second-year defensive coordinator James Bettcher.
Bettcher came with a solid resume. As the defensive coordinator of the Arizona Cardinals from 2015-17, his defense led the NFL in sacks in 2016 (48) and during his three seasons they were ranked No. 5, No. 2 and No. 6 in total defense and No. 7, No. 14 and No. 19 in scoring defense.
Last year, the Giants did not play the type of defense Bettcher had been noted for.
