Former GM: Colin Kaepernick is good enough to start in NFL this year

If Colin Kaepernick isn't in the NFL based on his talent, one of the best talent evaluators in recent memory has lost his touch.

Scot McCloughan, the ex-Redskins general manager and former Seahawks and 49ers executive, is widely thought of as a great talent evaluator. Before a combination of off-the-field issues and front-office politics ended his tenure in D.C., McCloughan turned around a Redskins team that was listless for years.

So when it comes to assessing talent, McCloughan's opinion is widely respected.

That makes his response to a Twitter question about Kaepernick's ability to be a starter in the league right now so interesting.
