Former New York Giants’ defensive coordinator James Bettcher has been looking for working since he was fired along with former head coach Pat Shurmur and the rest of the coaching staff last year.
The good news for him is that now it looks like Bettcher has found a new job. Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported on Saturday that he will serve in a senior defensive role with the San Francisco 49ers. He will assist their new defensive coordinator, former NFL linebacker DeMeco Ryans.
Woth former 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Salah taking the New York Jets head coaching job, Ryan was given his role with the Niners, but Bettcher will be there to guide him since he is a young and inexperienced coach.
