Give Jerry Reese credit.
The Giants general manager was in a tough spot on Tuesday, as he had to answer for a team that is off to a 1-6 start. Reese hasn't always been the smoothest public speaker, but he ducked and dodged like a seasoned politician at the podium.
But like so many politicians, Reese's words were empty. He tried to pin the blame for the atrocious start on the team buying into preseason hype. The real reasons for this season's failure run much deeper, so it's understandable that Reese preferred not to address those on Tuesday.
