Ex-Giant Paul Perkins added to Detroit Lions’ 53-man roster

Former New York Giants running back Paul Perkins is being promoted to the Detroit Lions’ 53-man roster to replace Kerryon Johnson, who has been placed on IR with a knee injury.

Perkins was a fifth-round pick by the Giants in 2016. He spent all of last season on IR. Perkins made the Giants’ 53-man roster, but saw no action and was waived Sept. 16. He was claimed by Detroit the next day, and has bounced between the team’s active roster and practice squad, appearing in one game without a carry.
