A former Giants defensive lineman was arrested in Florida on heroin charges after he rammed a deputy’s car following a pursuit, authorities said.
Barry Cofield — a free agent who last played three games for the Giants in 2015 — was arrested Tuesday in Lake Mary on charges of possession of heroin, fleeing and eluding and aggravated assault on a police officer, the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Police found Cofield, 34, passed out behind the wheel of his Cadillac Escalade at about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday near Interstate 4 and Lake Mary Boulevard, according to an arrest report.
