As we all know by now, back in 2004 when former New York Giants’ quarterback Eli Manning was coming into the NFL after playing his college ball at Ole Miss, it was well known that he didn’t want to play for the then San Diego Chargers who had the first overall pick in the draft.
Of course the Giants wanted Manning, so they used the fourth overall pick on quarterback Philip Rivers and then worked out a trade to send him and some draft picks to San Diego in exchange for Manning.
In a recent interview with Trey Wingo of FOX Sports, Manning admitted that it would have been awkward to show up for work at the Chargers’ facility after making it known that he didn’t want to play for them.
