Heading into last month’s NFL Draft, it seemed as though the New York Giants would end up with either Devonta Smith or Jaylen Waddle.
Instead, the Eagles leapfrogged the Giants and moved up from the 12th pick to the 10th pick and selected Smith. He admitted this week that he thought that he was going to end up being drafted by the Giants.
“I thought Carolina was going to draft me,” Smith said during the “Green Light Podcast” with Chris Long. “That’s who I thought. I knew of course the Giants, but it was all about, You have to get to 11.
