DeOssie: We don’t need an 18 game season

With the NFL’s collective bargaining agreement set to expire after the 2020 season, the two sides are digging in an laying the groundwork for the negotiations.

One of the sticky wickets in those negotiations will undoubtedly be the length of the regular season. Management wants to expand the season to 18 games while the players are vehemently against that proposal.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is stumping for the proposal in a backhanded way by pushing the idea of shortening the preseason to three games. At an event in Buffalo this week, Goodell questioned the need for four preseason games.
