Saquon Barkley was impressive, but the Giants young quarterbacks looked like young quarterbacks.
The two statements will be forever linked because the Giants opted to draft Barkley instead of a top rookie quarterback like Sam Darnold, Josh Allen or Josh Rosen earlier this year.
One reason was the belief that Barkley is "touched by the hand of God."
Another is the belief that Manning has "years" left. Another is trust head coach and quarterback guru Pat Shurmur can develop Davis Webb and/or Kyle Lauletta into Manning's successor.
