Giants quarterback Davis Webb likely will see his most playing time of the preseason in Thursday night’s game against the Patriots. Then, if all goes according to plan, the backup quarterback won’t see the field again the rest of the season.
In his final opportunity to showcase how the Giants would handle the ever-durable Eli Manning finally breaking down at age 37, Webb said he expects to show management — which didn’t draft him — that he can be trusted.
“I think I’ve taken a lot of steps each and every week. … Now, it’s the fourth game, and I should play my best so far,” Webb said after Tuesday’s practice.
