David Diehl says Giants' JPP faces 'an uphill battle'

Like a lot of current and former Big Blue members, retired offensive lineman David Diehl has not heard from, nor been in touch with Jason Pierre-Paul in the aftermath of the Giants defensive end’s Fourth of July fireworks mishap that resulted in an amputated right index finger.

But Diehl says that Pierre-Paul faces “an uphill battle” in his road back to playing competitive professional football, and that his missing digit could compromise the style of play suited for defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo’s system, not to mention the more subtle tricks of the trade that have made Pierre-Paul one of the most feared pass-rushers.
