Daniel Jones knew it would not be easy, but after winning his first two NFL starts, he never imagined he would head into December still awaiting win No. 3. He had a losing record (17-19) at Duke, so the struggle is not unfamiliar to him. Incessant losing, though, revealed to Jones what he got himself into.
“You don’t know exactly what it’s like because you never played in an NFL game before,’’ Jones said, “but you hear all the time about people talking about the margin for error and about how close these games are with everyone being so evenly matched talent-wise, and it’s about who can make a couple more plays.
