Daniel Jones’ career day leads Giants over Redskins in overtime thriller

LANDOVER, Md. — The Giants probably won’t get the player they most need in the 2020 NFL Draft now.

But it certainly looks like they made the right call in 2019 — and that’s still most important.

In his first game back after missing two with a high ankle sprain, Daniel Jones threw for 352 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions and led a game-winning overtime touchdown drive as the Giants topped the Redskins, 41-35, in a game billed as the Chase Young Bowl.

The Giants (4-11) blew a 14-point fourth-quarter lead but survived when Kaden Smith caught a touchdown pass on third-and-goal from the 3-yard line.
